Scion + Alpine = Hot Cars

Last week, Scion invited us to a preview for their SEMA cars at their art gallery in Culver City, CA. With DJ Virman from Far East Movement spinning the tunes from Scion’s custom DJ xB, Kogi BBQ serving fusion street tacos from the Alpine-equipped “Azul“ truck, and great Scion demo cars – what more could you want? How about a custom xD and tC!

The xD Kogi Mobile Kitchen, made by our friend Mike Vu and his MV Designz team, is a partnership between Scion, Kogi BBQ and Alpine. The functional grill, mini fridge and sink all motorize out, ready to be fired up for hungry crowds. The Alpine audio system, consisting of a Scion/Alpine premium head unit, Type-R SPR-17S speakers, SWR-1042D 10-inch sub and a PDX-5 5-channel amp, turns this mobile kitchen into a party. Party’s over? No problem, the xD motorizes back into a fully street legal vehicle!

The Epic Cartel tC is a fully overhauled tC with a three-inch roof line chop. Remove the glass roof and B-pillars, add custom paint, seats and a big Alpine system, and you’ve got a one-of-a-kind tC. The Alpine system starts with an IVA-W505 in the dash and Type X speakers. Power comes from three PDX-1.600 amps, two PDX-4.150 amps and four SWR-1042D subs installed in the rear, which are only visible when the motorized hatch cover opens up.

Thanks for Rockin' the Dash!

This summer-long online music contest gave over 2,000 artists a rousing opportunity to showcase their music and share their talent with new and loyal fans. We'd like to thank you all for breathing life into Rock the Dash 2 !

At Alpine, we hold a deep-seated passion for music, and we continue to incorporate that passion into bringing you the best sound quality experience on the road. Whoever said music is a universal language, wasn’t kidding. At Rock the Dash, take a listen to an assortment of songs, from true-rooted hip hop to heart-pumping rock, from a wide diversity of music artists.

The end result of the contest was to let the fate of the winners rest in the hands of the voters. That's right, we kept it for the people, by the people! The votes are in and the grand prize winner, Blessed End, hailing from the Lone Star state, took 1st place; followed by Foot Soldier, of Ontario Canada, in 2nd place; and David Segovia of North Carolina, in 3rd place. They’re just the cream of the crop – dig down deep and find many more unique talents that might vie for your attention.

Weekend Recap: The Alpine and Kogi Friday Night Hang-out

It was Friiiday, and we had a blast out on the Alpine lot as Kogi and Alpine fans gathered for the taco and bump festivities. Fans snuck out of line to catch a closer peek at some of the fierce Alpine rides and you could even hear the Alpine Sport Boat bumpin’ from across the street. Over 300 attendees gathered for their taste of the über-famous Kogi tacos – and Alpine unleashed the dopest whips including the IMPRINT RLS and Mini Speedster for maximum entertainment. Lucky raffle winners went home with the Alpine eX-10 (on-dash iPod controller), Alpine Kogi-picnic kits, and Kogi Tees. Some asked why we didn’t raffle off any of the Alpine rides – sorry kids, but Alpine’s got dibs on those. The Scion xD with the claw was also around so kids of all ages had fun “grabbing” plush cars to add to their toy collection. Good company, good food, and good music was a stellar way to kick off the weekend!

We’d like to thank all those who came out and joined us at Alpine headquarters… some hailed from as far as New Jersey, while others were local So Cal folks – we were stoked to spend time with some familiar friends and made a bunch of new ones! Special thanks of course, to Kogi for rolling up in Azul and bringing the grub. After a fun “2nd date”, consider this our post-date text message thank you for a good time.
