Our newest project is our first serious effort in the field of SQL competition. With the help of our new friends from Alpine, Memphis and Kinetik, and also our oldest friend Monster Cable, Team DMTC's 2002 Ford Mustang should really impress the judges in the MECA's SQL "Street" category!
As stated earlier, this vehicle will be competing in the MECA's SQL "Street" category. In this category, the system must use factory speaker locations but can use A-Pillar mounted tweeters and subwoofers in the trunk. The overall goal of SQL is to accurately reproduce the music.
Our new system will be using Alpine's new "Imprint" Digital Audio Processor in conjunction with their iDA-X200 Digital Media Receiver. The processor will be sending it's signals to Memphis' new 5-Channel "Hybrid" amplifier. This amp will then drive all M-Class Memphis speakers.
In front will be a set of M-Class "Sync" Component speakers along with a dedicated M-Class Tweeter set. The rear deck will house at set of M-Class coaxials. The bass will be supplied by two trunk-mounted M-Class 10" sub-woofers in a custom enclosure.
With all that great equipment connected by the best car audio cable in the world, and powered by great power cells from Kinetik, this vehicle should bring home it's fair share of trophies in the upcoming MECA season. Their are also a lot of great electronic lessons to be learned in the classroom as we prepare for the precision world of SQL!
